Pinch Pot: Pot

Slipping and scoring is scratching the surface of clay that you are going to and then putting a mix of clay and water called slip on the clay. This is important so that the clay fits exactly and stays together. If you did not slip and score, the clay would stay together while it was wet but it would fall apart when it dried.
I had to work hard to make my pot symmetrical. I had to hit it repeatedly with paddle in areas that were not flat or to high.

  1. This piece will come out of the kiln tomorrow morning. After looking it over I will give you a grade and post that grade in your following post. Please remember to come in during CHAT to photograph the work in the bisque stage (clay fired to about 1800 degrees F).
